Forest, MS (February 23rd, 2016) – After more than a year of completing infrastructure improvements, MaxxSouth Broadband is ready to unveil major enhancements to the high-speed Internet and Video services available to residents in the Mississippi communities of Forest and Morton.
“This is more than just an upgrade; this is a game changer for our valued customers in Forest and Morton,” said Peter Kahelin, MaxxSouth Broadband’s President and CEO. “These developments will completely transform how residents interact with their Internet and TV services.”
In the coming months, customers will experience an influx of interactive video options and a dramatic increase in Internet download speed. The improvements come as MaxxSouth Broadband completes the process of interconnecting the two cities to the company’s main network via state-of-the-art fiber-optic transmission lines.
“We’re committed to continually investing in our network and in the communities we serve,” Kahelin said. “The overhaul of the data network and expansion of video services highlight how MaxxSouth Broadband delivers on that promise.”
The enhanced system will provide current and future customers in Forest and Morton with a fully digital video platform, more than 50 of the most popular HD channels, 20 recently added channels, free access to Video-on-Demand, and the ability to pause and record live TV using a Digital Video Recorder, or DVR.
“Forest and Morton will now be interconnected with 57 of our other service communities,” said Tommy Taylor, MaxxSouth’s Vice President of Technical and Network Operations. “This provides our system with incredible reliability, failsafe redundancy and increased quality.”
In terms of improved Internet service, most customers can expect their download speeds to accelerate by at least double, with even higher internet speed packages being launched in the future. In addition, residential Internet service customers will be provided free access to the online streaming sports network ESPN 3.
Customers can expect to see these improved offerings come online this spring, when the final stages of the interconnection project are completed. MaxxSouth is providing the extra channels, quicker download speeds and enhanced video services at no additional cost.
Around the same time, customers will have access to a new, modernized MaxxSouth Broadband Customer Service Center, which will open its doors in Forest. This center will provide in-person customer support and serve the needs of both Forest residents and the surrounding communities.
“The brand new customer center will help us offer world-class service to our customers in and around Forest,” said Tonya Thompson, Regional General Manager for MaxxSouth. “Our dedicated service representatives have always been 100-percent local, and it’s easy to prove that with attentive, person-to-person interactions.”
As an industry leader, MaxxSouth Broadband also seeks opportunities to support and improve the quality of life of its customers and employees. In the past 12 months, the company worked closely with numerous non-profit organizations to facilitate sponsorships and other charitable contributions. During this period, MaxxSouth’s total committed support has been over $200,000.
“We, at MaxxSouth, are very excited about these upcoming enhancements to the services we offer to our valued communities of Forest and Morton,” added Kahelin. “In the not-too-distant future, we will also launch telephony services in these markets as we continue to enhance our products and services even further.”
